ICP owns Grip Tester MK2. This equipment is designed to obtain friction coefficients
A normalized rubber tire, with a 15% blocked wheel on wet pavement (0.25 mm of water), is used to measure skid resistance.
ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) recommends this equipment to carry out tests on landing strips and PIARC (World Road Association) to obtain IFI (International Friction Index).
This equipment measures the following parameters:
-
Longitudinal Friction Coefficient, defined by “GRIPNUMBER” Index (GN) between 0 and 100, associated to the test speed.
-
Transverse Friction Coefficient obtained by a correlation with SCRIM value (Sideways-force Coefficient Routine Investigation Machine) (Skid Resistance) during the International AIPCR Experiment of Comparison and Harmonization of Texture and Skid Resistance measurements.
-
Corelations established in the international experiment, which are valid to determine IFI value (International Friction Coefficient).
ICP hands in a complete report, the data base of the condition survey campaign as well as a visual program to analyze the collected data.
This visual program contains coordinated tools that provides information about:
-
Skid resistance in the corresponding Kilometric Point
-
Google Maps location of the corresponding Kilometric Point
-
Graph of skid resistance measured in the corresponding stretch
